PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting off to a slow start during the feature event at the Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night with the Civil War Series, Andy Forsberg came alive late and picked up his second consecutive runner up finish with the Civil War Series.

“It was a great track I thought, and we got going at the end,” Forsberg said. “I hate to lose, but at least were back up on the podium.”

On a hooked up Petaluma Speedway Saturday night, the Auburn, CA driver would get his night started off by timing the PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness/PT Shocks backed No. 7c machine in seventh fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Forsberg would get the jump on Michael Kofoid and never look back, as he would pick up the heat race win and earn a berth into the six-lap Dash.

Pulling the four pill, ‘Mr. Excitement’ would pick up a position in the Dash, as his third place finish would line him up on the inside of the second row for the 30-lap feature event.

On an old school, hooked up Petaluma Speedway, Forsberg would lose some spots early in the feature event, as he would find himself back as far as the seventh spot when the race reached the halfway point.

Taking advantage of some restarts, Forsberg would work his way back into the Top-Five when a couple of cars in front of him got together. Restarting on the outside of the second row with just six laps remaining in the race, Forsberg let it all hang out as he went to work on the high, scary side of the speedway.

Quickly jumping into the second spot, Forsberg would give Sean Becker all he could handle in the final laps of the feature event. Running right on his rear bumper, Forsberg just could not find his way around Becker and would settle for a second place finish.

“I got lucky late in the race and really came alive once we moved up,” Forsberg said. “Thanks to my guys for giving me another great car. We have some big races coming up starting this week, and we’d love to stay strong and pick up some wins during this stretch.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
