PETERSEN MEDIA: David Gravel and his Destiny Motorsports team had a nice 11th place finish at the Eldora Speedway on Friday night before an early issue under the hood of their car on Saturday night sidelined the team early in the feature event.

“We had a good run on Friday night, we certainly could have been a little better, but we battled for a top-10 all race long,” Gravel said. “Saturday night we had a nice night going, but ended up with a DNF unfortunately.”

Friday night at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH, Gravel would time the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply & Trading/Benic Enterprises No. 7 machine in seventh fastest, putting him in the second row of his heat race.

Finishing in the third spot, Gravel would move into the feature event, where he lined the Rick Rogers Construction/Boss Signs and Graphics/Maxim Chassis No. 7 machine up in the fifth row for the 30-lap affair.

On the high-banked ½ mile track, Gravel would spend most of his race battling in the Top-10 as he raced with Brady Bacon and Gary Taylor at times. When the checkered flag flew on the race, Gravel took the checkered flag with an 11th place finish.

“It was a nice finish, but we all want to be a little better, and I think we will get there for sure,” Gravel added. “It is a work in progress, and everyone is working very hard.”

Saturday night saw Gravel time in ninth fastest, putting him on the front row of the heat race alongside Paul McMahan. Finishing in the third spot, Gravel would again transfer into the feature event, where he lined up in the seventh row.

Only making a few laps in the race, Gravel would bring his machine to a stop, and ultimately retire from the event with a DNF.

“We put ourselves in a position to make the dash, I just didn’t take care of business in my heat race,” he added. “It’s been a fun few weeks so far with this team, and again, I have to thank Rick and Barb Rogers for giving me this opportunity. PA is tough, but we are all looking forward to getting there this week.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Rod End Supply, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, , GME Manufacturing, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Parker Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, and Hoosier Tire for their support in 2015.
