PETERSEN MEDIA- Rebounding from a frustrating night at the Placerville Speedway one week ago, Greg DeCaires and his Dale Miller Motorsports team overcame a bit of adversity during Saturday night’s event to finish in the fourth spot.

Getting his night started off great, DeCaires would time the Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic/Thompson’s Auto Center/RedHawk Casino backed No. 4SA machine in quickest during the night’s qualifying session.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, DeCaires would have issues on the first lap of his heat race saw him get out of shape and endure heavy contact. Able to restart the race with a beaten and battered car, DeCaires would finish fourth and earn a spot in the nightly redraw.

Following the heat race, it was revealed that there was a broken piece to the No. 4sa frame, and the crew quickly scrambled to find a fix. With a fellow competitor a professional welder with a welder in the pits, repairs were made to the Dale Miller Motorsports entry, and the Elk Grove, CA driver would grid the field from the fourth row.

On a racy Placerville Speedway surface, DeCaires would use his veteran savvy to work his way into the Top-Five. Battling past Logan Seavey late in the race, DeCaires would take the fourth spot as he then set his sights on Justin Johnson.

Getting to Johnson with just a few laps left in the race, DeCaires would not have much time to do anything for the final spot on the podium and settled for fourth at the stripe.

Greg DeCaires and the Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic, Thompson’s Auto Center, RedHawk Casino, NAAKE Suspension, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Gary Morgan Graphics, Joe Hunt Magnetos, Smith Precision Products, MotoWear, Frank’s Auto Body Shop, and Wesmar Racing Engines for their support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 5, Wins- 1, Top-5’s-3, Top-10’s-4

ON TAP: DeCaires and the Miller Motorsports team will be back in action this Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway.
