PETERSEN MEDIA: Andy Gregg and his GUTS Racing team headed to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night and scored a sixth place finish after going to the back of the pack with just 10-laps-to-go.
“We had a pretty fast car all night, and we had some misfortune on the 15th lap, but were still able to get back up to the sixth spot, so we were pleased with that,” Gregg said.
Timing in third fastest in qualifications, Gregg grabbed the fourth spot in heat race action putting him in the redraw, where he found himself pulling the six pill.
When the 25-lap feature went green, Gregg was able to move forward, as he found himself in a grueling battle with Andy Forsberg, as the two rivals battled for the fourth spot.
While dueling for the position, Gregg brought his machine to a stop on the 15th lap, forcing him to the back of the pack with just 10-laps to go.
Gregg did not let being in the back of the pack deter him, and he quickly got his elbows up and clawed his way back forward aboard his Miller Fortune/Poor’s Equipment Repair/K&N backed machine.
On the slick ¼ mile, Gregg was able to get himself up to the sixth spot when he took the checkered flag on the 25th lap.
“After having a rough week last week, everyone worked hard through the week, and worked hard at the track, and we had a good night, and I cannot thank all of my guys enough.” He said.
