PETERSEN MEDIA- Harli White was back in action in the state of Texas over the weekend after taking a couple weeks off, and though there may have been a little rust, White was able to bag  Top-10 before mechanical woes sidelined her at Devil’s Bowl on Saturday.

“It was great to get back in the car,” she said. “I had missed it, but it was nice to take a little break and regroup.”

Making her debut at the new Timberline Speedway, White took some time adapting to the sandy surface that the track offered.

“It was our first time to Timberline, and it is a really neat 3/8 high-banked track,” she explained. “The surface was a littler different, and we struggled to read it, and adjust our car enough.”

With a fourth place finish in heat race action, White was 12th in points, putting the Lucas Oil/Mesilla Valley Transportation/PXP Racewear entry in the sixth row of the feature event.

On the slicked off surface, White searched around for grip as he machine was on the loose side, making it tough for her to get moving forward. Giving it everything she could, White was able to salvage her night with a 10th place finish.

“We fought and fought all night, and we are pleased with the 10th place finish,” she said. “We would have liked to be better, but we just missed out set up, and battled a free racecar.”

On Saturday night, Harli and her Harli White Racing team traveled to Mesquite, TX to take on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Series at the famed Devil’s Bowl Speedway, a track that White has ran well at during the 2014 season, to open up the National speedweek.

Lining up eighth in a star studded heat, White had a strong car as he carved her way forward, and picked up a fifth place finish.

Mixing her passing points with her finishing points, White sat 14th in points, and earned her way directly into the feature event.

Taking the hot lap that the series gives the drivers to get lined up, White noticed her engine had a miss in it, and with a string of races coming up, she pulled into the work area to have her team check it out, and they opted to call it a night.

“It was disappointing to have basically a ‘DNS’,” she said. “We had a pretty good car, and I was looking forward to having a good start to speedweek, but we have plenty of racing ahead of us.

Harli White Racing would like to thank Lucas Oil, Mesilla Valley Transportation, PXP Racewear, Simpson, Classic Seagulls UK, Eagle Motorsports, and the Shriners Hospital For Children Gavelston for their support during the 2014 season.

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-18, Wins-0, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-7.

ON TAP: White will continue to compete with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Series during their speedweek which resumes Wednesday night at the Lawton Speedway, Thursday night at Creek County, the Outlaw Motorsports Park on Friday, before concluding at the Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday night.
