PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking to the Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night for the third PitStopUSA Series points show, Andy Forsberg would find himself engaged in a torrid battle for the top spot in the feature event before his machine would get upset and make hard contact with the turn four wall.

“We had an awesome racecar, and I can’t thank Cody and the guys for all they do,” Andy Forsberg said. “I had a good run going and probably got a little impatient and it bit us. I hate it for this team.”

Timing the C&M Motorsports PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness/Pacific Highway Rentals No. 7c machine in third fastest, the Auburn, CA driver would go on to dominate his heat race as he won by over a straight away.

Earning a spot in the nightly redraw, Forsberg would find himself in the third row for the 25-lap feature event on a surface that offered drivers a little bit of everything. When the race came to life, most migrated towards the low side of the speedway but Forsberg had other ideas as he took a liking to the high, scary side of the speedway.

Simply driving by his completion, Forsberg would move into the second spot and pick up a spirited battle for the lead with Geoff Ensign. As the duo raced side by side and wheel to wheel, they would exchange the top spot on several occasions.

On the 13th lap however, Forsberg and Ensign would both drive deep into turns three and four and it would result in Forsberg catching a rut that would get his machine upset and ultimately make hard contact with the turn four fence, bringing his night to an early end.

“It was nice to be quick, but it is just disappointing me not be able to roll the car back into the trailer,” Forsberg added. “It is something I cant dwell on because we are back at it again this weekend.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.

ON TAP: Forsberg and company will take on the King of the West Series on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway.
