PETERSEN MEDIA- After winning the 360ci portion of the Howard Kaeding Classic on Friday night in another car, Kyle Hirst completed the weekend sweep as he dominated much of the 30-lap feature event on Saturday night to claim his second consecutive King of the West Series HK Classic.

“Wow, what a great night for this Tarlton Motorsports team,” Kyle Hirst said. “We had a great car all night long and it’s great to get this win. We got some bad news Saturday night from the Roth Motorsports camp, so we were thinking about them all night and dedicate this win to them.”

Opening his night up on Saturday night, the Paradise, CA driver timed the Roth Motorsports/Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc. No. 21x machine in seventh fastest.

From the front row of his heat race, Hirst was mash the throttle and rocket out to an early lead as he never looked back and picked up the win. By way of his win, Hirst would lock

into the Dash where a sixth place finish would place him in the third row of the 30-lap feature event.

With the track staying extremely heavy early in the night, it show signed of widening out when the feature came to life, and that was all KH needed as he worked his way forward.

Sitting in the fourth spot when the race’s first caution flew on the third lap, Hirst would work into the second spot as he set his sights on the early leader, Brent Kaeding. With Kaeding and Hirst dueling up front, the crowd would come to their feet as the duo raced side by side.

On the 10th lap, Hirst would cross the stripe with the race lead before the caution flew one lap later. The ensuing restart would see Hirst and another Kaeding battle for the top spot, as Bud Kaeding threw his hat into the mix.

Finally able to clear the Kaeding’s, Hirst would start to open up a very sizeable lead as he flexed his muscle on the ¼ mile speedway. Working through lapped traffic to perfection, Hirst looked to be well on hi sway to his third KWS win of the season, but the caution flag would fly on the 26th lap.

With the field lined up on his rear bumper, Hirst would turn in four perfect laps as he was able to claim his second consecutive HK Classic win with the KWS, and complete a personal weekend sweep.

“This Tarlton Motorsports team is a blast to work with, and Paul Baines and the boys gave me an awesome racecar,” Hirst added. “This is a huge win for us heading into the Peter Murphy Classic, and that is a race this entire team is gunning for.”

Kyle Hirst and the Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Motorsports, Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2016 season.
