PETERSEN MEDIA- Ian Madsen and his KCP Racing team were in action with the MOWA on Friday night, where he had some bad luck, before putting together a nice fifth place run with the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions at the Eldora Speedway on Saturday night.

“We had some tough luck on Friday night, but everyone worked hard, and we came back on Saturday night at had a pretty good showing,” Madsen said.

Timing in seventh fastest at the high-banked 1/2 mile speedway, the St. Marys, NSW pilot lined the Nehring Construction/Team Kline Electric/Logan Contractors Supply No. 18 machine up in the third row of his heat race, before he raced his way to a third place finish, transferring directly into the feature event.

Lining up in the seventh spot of the feature, Madsen got off to a slow start as he faded back to the 10th spot when the race came to life.

By the sixth lap, Madsen had worked his way up to the seventh spot as the red flag flew for a very scary accident. When the action resumed, Madsen worked the bottom of the speedway as he began battling with Christopher Bell as he raced for the fifth spot, with Madsen eventually winning battle.

Once in fifth, Madsen chased after Greg Willson as he looked to move into the fourth spot, but Christopher Bell had now begun challenging Madsen, and the duo initiated their battle for the second time during the race.

After exchanging slide-jobs, Madsen again was able to clear Bell, and at that time the white flag flew, and Madsen was able to cross the stripe with a fifth place finish.

Friday night with the MOWA, Madsen was involved in a heat race wreck, and after a valiant effort by the crew, Madsen put on a charge in the B main, but came up just short of a transfer spot into the feature event.

“My team had a strong weekend, and they all worked very hard,” Madsen said. “It is tough to tear up equipment in a heat race, but the boys all got dirty and got us back on track, just as they have done all year. It was great to run well at Eldora, and now hopefully we can run well with the World of Outlaws this weekend.”

Ian and his KCP acing team would like to thank Nehring Construction, Team Kline Electric, Logan Contractors Supply, Royal Flooring, Greenland Homes of Iowa, Quality Traffic Control, Factory Kahne, Rider Racing Engines, JRS Excavating, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, The Stone Shop, Aspen Aire Inc.
