PETERSEN MEDIA- In what was supposed to be a busy three-race weekend, Mother Nature kept up with her dominant season in 2019 and only allowed Friday’s race to happen, as Ian Madsen would finish eighth at Lake Ozark Speedway.

“We were pretty good on Friday night, and had good speed Sunday at Jacksonville before the rain came,” Ian Madsen said. “Hopefully the weather can start cooperating and let us get into a rhythm.”

Checking in at the Eldon, MO facility on Friday night, Madsen would time the Logan Contractors Supply, Inc./Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed machine in ninth quickest in time trials with 32 cars packed into the pit area.

Starting alongside Sammy Swindell in the second row of his heat race, Madsen and the Hall of Fame driver would open up a battle for third with Swindell ultimately getting the better end of the deal as Madsen would finish fourth and make his way directly into the 40-lap feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 13th starting position, Madsen would run a very nice race on an extremely racy surface that was presented to the field for the Battle at the Lake.

Working his way into the Top-10 while working through traffic, Madsen would cap his night off with an eighth place finish.

Saturday’s event in Pevely, MO would be cancelled to rain, and after getting through the BMain on Sunday in Jacksonville, IL, Mother Nature stole the show and postponed the running of the feature event. Madsen was off to a great start Sunday as he timed in third quickest in his qualifying flight, ran second in his heat, and finished eighth in the Dash.

“Friday we raced well, and Sunday we had some good speed, and I think we would have been pretty good in the feature,” Madsen said. “Thanks to my guys for all of their hard work; weekends like this are tough but it’s part of the gig.”

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Kline Electric, Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Greenland Homes, American Express, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, P1  Race Wear, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
