PETERSEN MEDIA- With the 2014 season complete for Ian Madsen in the United States, he is set to officially be crowned 2014 Knoxville Raceway 410ci track champion on Saturday night after wrapping up his season at the World Finals last weekend.

“Our World Finals was not how we had hoped to finish off our season, but we won’t let that get us down,” Madsen said. “We had a great year overall, and we are all looking forward to celebrating our achievements on Saturday night.”

At The Dirt Track At Charlotte over the weekend, Madsen got off to a rough start during qualifying night on Thursday night as he timed his Nehring Construction/Team Kline Electric/Logan Contractors Supply No. 18 machine in 31st fastest for the Friday night show and 41st fastest for the Saturday night program.

“We just struggled qualifying on Thursday night, and with the way the format for the World Finals is, it really started us off in a hole on both Friday and Saturday night.”

Lining up seventh in his Friday night heat race, Madsen made a valiant effort to get his Royal Flooring/Greenland Homes of Iowa/QTC backed machine directly into the feature event, as he raced his way into the fifth spot.

Coming up just short of the direct transfer, Madsen lined up in the seventh row of the LCS, and finished in the 13th position, ending his night.

Back at it on Saturday night, Madsen was unable to get out of his heat before ending his season in the C Main.

“We aren’t going to let our season finale really bum us out too much,” he said. “We won a ton of races this year, and won a Knoxville Raceway Championship, which is really awesome for a second year team. It means so much to me to get this done for Bret Nehring and all of the great people who support us. We are all looking forward to having a good time and celebrating our accomplishments.”

Ian and his KCP acing team would like to thank Nehring Construction, Team Kline Electric, Logan Contractors Supply, Royal Flooring, Greenland Homes of Iowa, Quality Traffic Control, Factory Kahne, Rider Racing Engines, JRS Excavating, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, The Stone Shop, Aspen Aire Inc. Heating and Cooling, Gator Excavating, TammyHeckart.com, Kent Performance, Revolution Race Gear,  Lucas Oil, Wings Unlimited, and Kustom Concrete Pumping for their support.
