(PETERSEN MEDIA- Aptos, CA)- An extremely successful 2016 first season has led to a beefed up 13-race schedule for the highly popular IMCA All Star Modified Tour. The traveling series will visit nine different tracks in the Golden State, and offers a substantial contingency program to series members.

“Our first season with the IMCA All Star Modified Tour went extremely well, and we were able to put together a very nice schedule in 2017 that sees almost twice as many races at a variety of track,” Prentice Motorsports Group President, John Prentice said.

2017 will see the series take part in many prestigious shows, and often sharing the spotlight with California’s premier sprint car divisions making for a very exciting season ahead.

The season will kick off on March 11th at Chico, CA’s Silver Dollar Speedway and will come to an end on September 30th during the 7th Annual Pat Pettit Shootout at the Ocean Speedway.  Sandwiched in between to two bookending dates will be stops at Merced Speedway (April 15th), Petaluma Speedway (May 6th), Marysville Raceway (May 27th), Bakersfield Speedway (June 24th), Keller Auto Speedway (July 1st), Ocean Speedway (July 15th), Thunderbowl Raceway (July 22nd), Ocean Speedway (August 5th), Petaluma Speedway (August 19th), and Calistoga Speedway (September 15th).

“These tracks typically put on some great Modified racing and we think the guys who follow our series will really enjoy running for the 2017 Championship,” Prentice added. “Aside from our schedule, we our also really excited about the contingency program we were able to put together, and we thank everyone who stepped up and made it possible.”

2017 will no longer see the mandatory pill draw fee in place at events. To compete with the series an IMCA Membership is 100% required to participate in races, and will be collected at check in if not paid up front.

There is also an optional series membership fee of $100 that will go towards season ending points fund, and make you eligible for contingency prizes of final point pay out.

With the 13-race schedule finalized, PMG has put a mulligan into place for the year ahead, essentially meaning teams will be able to throw their lowest point night of the year out, or are able to miss a race and not be hurt should something come up during the year ahead.
