James McFadden Looks for Golden State Redemption This Weekend

PETERSEN MEDIA- With just one weekend left in the Sprint California swing, James McFadden is looking to end the trip on a high note after what he simply described as a struggle this past Friday night in Merced, CA.

“We struggled most of the night in Merced, CA, and to be honest it’s really a night to forget,” James McFadden said. “The track was really fun, but I just couldn’t seem to get comfortable.”

With 33 cars checked in at Merced Speedway on Friday night, McFadden would get his first glimpse of the California bullring as he timed the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/Roth Investments backed mount timed in 21stfastest in time trials.

Finishing sixth in his heat race, the Alice Springs, NT native would be forced into the night’s ‘B’ Main, however it would simply be another opportunity for the 2021 WoO Rookie of the Year to get laps on the track.

Racing to a third-place finish in the semi, McFadden would successfully earn a transfer into the feature event where he would take the green flag from the 23rd starting position.

On a slick racing surface that saw the leaders reach the back of the pack in no time at all, McFadden would do a nice job of staying on the lead lap as he worked his way forward.

Able to pick up a few positions, McFadden would find himself in 15th on the race’s 14th lap, but soon a faulty brake line would make his feature a tick more difficult.

Dealing with faulty brakes on the tight confines of the slick Merced Speedway, McFadden would do a very nice job of hanging on to finish 17th.

“We have had a big few days at the shop, and I am looking forward to another shot in California this weekend,” McFadden said. “Big thanks to my guys for their continued hard work, as well as Dennis and Teresa Roth for all they continue to do for this team.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, Roth Investments, Southern Pacific Farms, All Star Performance, FK Rod Ends, Vahlco Wheels, AL Drive Lines, Factory Kahne, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Wings Unlimited, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Smith Titanium for their support in 2022.

ON TAP: Roth Motorsports and James McFadden continue the World of Outlaws tour this Friday night at Bakersfield Speedway, and Saturday night at Perris Auto Speedway.
