PETERSEN MEDIA- After getting upside down on Friday night at the Santa Maria Speedway, Jarrett Soares and his team worked feverishly on Saturday to get Soares’ car fixed the best they could, and it worked out as he earned a 12th place finish.

“I can’t thank Brian Sperry, Bobby McMahan, Keith Espindola, and my dad enough for all of their hard work to get our car ready for Saturday night, and on top of that giving me a fast one to boot,” Jarrett Soares said.

Kicking his weekend off at the Santa Maria Speedway on Friday night, Soares would time the American Tool & Manufacturing/C&H Vet Enterprises/Performance Powder Coating No. 12 machine in 12th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Finishing sixth in his heat race, Soares would line up in the sixth row of the 30-lap feature event. Getting off to a nice start, Soares was running in the Top-10 on a lap eight restart.

With cars checking up, Soares had nowhere to go, and he would ride a fellow competitors wheel and take a nasty tumble into turn one. Though he was okay, Soares’ entry was battered.

Getting to Ventura, CA on Saturday for another King of the West race, Soares and company were able to get the car fixed the best they could, but it was still bent up in some spots.

Timing in 10th fastest in qualifying time trials, Soares would struggle in his heat race as he would fall back to the fifth spot at the checkered flag. Gridding the field from the fifth row, Soares would find himself battling with the likes of Bobby McMahan, Brent Kaeding and DJ Netto.

Working inside the Top-10 at times during the race, Soares would cap his trip to the Coast with a 12th place finish.

“I had an absolute blast racing with Bobby McMahan during the feature event,” Soares said. He has mentored me my entire racing career so finally battle with him was pretty special. Again, I really just want to thank everyone who made the trip possible, and who worked hard to make sure we could race on Saturday.”

Jarrett and his Soares Motorsports team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., C&H Vet Ent., Performance Powder Coating, Addicted Industries Clothing, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, Excel Environmental, Simpson Race Products, McMahan Motorsports, CSI Shocks, and Brad Scadden Designs for their support.

ON TAP: Soares will return to action on October 10th at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA.
