PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night, Jarrett Soares followed the Civil War Series pres. by Flowmaster to Tulare, CA for the series’ third event of the 2018 season. Putting together a solid night, Soares would finish fifth in the 30-lap feature event.

“I had hoped it would go a little better, but we turned some good laps at the Thunderbowl, and we were able to roll it back in the trailer which is sometimes as good a win there.”

Soares kicked the night off by timing his American Tool & Mfg./C&H Veteran Enterprises/Performance Powder Coating backed No. 12 machine in fourth quickest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Gilroy, CA pilot would battle with Landon Hurst for position until he finally settled for a fourth place finish. Moving into the nightly redraw, the three-pill would put Soares in the second row for the 30-lap feature event.

As the race came to life, Soares would run inside the Top-Five as he battled with the likes of Steven Kent and Tanner Boul as they raced hard around the tricky high-banked 1/3 mile oval nestled in the Central Valley.

Continuing to race hard, Soares would briefly fall out of the Top-Five but was able to sneak by Boul to take over fifth late in the race. A couple of restarts would give Soares an opportunity to better his track position, but he would be able to around the likes of Kent or Matthew Moles.

Moving into fourth late, Soares would find himself under pressure from youngster, Cory Elliot. Battling with Elliot in the race’s final laps Soares would give up the position as he came home with a fifth place finish.

“Brian Sperry and I have really been working well together,’ Soares added. “He is pushing me to be better with my preparation through the night and reading the track better so its been a good past couple of weeks for us.”

Jarrett and his Jarrett Soares Racing team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., C&H Veteran Enterprises, Performance Powder Coating, Addicted Industries Clothing, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, Dickens Cider, and Walker Performance Filtration for their support.

ON TAP: The Jarrett Soares Racing team returns to action May 18th and 19th in Tulare, CA for the Peter Murphy Classic.
