PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night in Hanford, CA, Jarrett Soares’ night would come to an early end as front end damage would leave him parked in the infield on the 13th lap.

“The track was pretty rough so everyone was rolling the bottom,” Soares said. “I felt pretty good, but I clipped an infield tire just after the halfway point and that ended our night.”

Timing the American Toll & Mfg./C&H Veteran Enterprises/Performance Powder Coating No. 12 machine in 19th fastest of the 30-cars checked in the pit area for the Cotton Classic, Soares would find himself in the third heat race.

Lining up in the third row of his heat race, the Gilroy, CA pilot would race with Craig Stidham for the final transfer into the feature event, but finishing fifth Soares would be forced into the 12-lap ‘B’ Main.

Racing with Bobby McMahan in the semi, Soares would work into the fifth spot during the fast paced race. Hanging on to finish fifth, Soares would successfully punch his ticket into the 30-lap Cotton Classic feature event.

On an extremely rough surface, Soares would take a liking to the bottom of the speedway from his 21st starting position. Able to slowly work his way forward, Soares would make some good laps on the low groove.

Continuing to run the bottom of the speedway, Soares would make contact with an infield barrier with his left front and it would cause him to lose the handle and spin down the back stretch and into the infield ultimately ending his night.

“It wasn’t the ending I had in mind, and I feel bad for letting my team down,” Soares said. “The car has felt pretty good lately and I owe it to Brian Sperry and my Dad. I am looking forward to this weekend and seeing Paul McMahan in our car at Trophy Cup.”

Jarrett and his Jarrett Soares Racing team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., C&H Veteran Enterprises, Performance Powder Coating, Addicted Industries Clothing, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, Dickens Cider, and Walker Performance Filtration for their support.

ON TAP: The Jarrett Soares Racing team will be in action this weekend for the 24th Annual Trophy Cup in Tulare, CA with Paul McMahan in the seat.
