PETERSEN MEDIA- Working tirelessly in 2019 after having so much success together in 2018, Justin Sanders and Dale Miller were rewarded for their efforts on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway as they picked up their first win of the season together as the topped Sprint Car Challenge Tour action.
“It feels really good to get back into victory lane with Dale Miller,” Justin Sanders said. “We have really been working on this program all year long, and we knew we were close the last couple of times out.”
Battling with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on Saturday night, Sanders kicked the night off by timing the Thompson’s Buick-GMC/Thompson’s Jeep-Ram/Dale Miller Septic Inc. backed No. 4SA entry in fastest in his qualifying group.
Just needing to run inside the Top-Five in his heat to move into the Dash, the Aromas, CA driver would do just that as he would finish second before grabbing the win in the six-lap Dash.
By way of the Dash win, Sanders would lead the field to green, which would prove to be problematic for the other 23 cars as Sanders was stellar on this night. From the front row, Sanders set a torrid pace from the onset as he pounded the Placerville Speedway cushion while he could as he thinned out over the course of the race.
Able to work the bottom when needed to, Sanders would find himself in traffic late in the race and it allowed Cole Macedo to close in on him.
On the last lap, Sanders’ pace would slow a little and Macedo took one final shot at him coming to the checkered, but Sanders had the momentum and was able to fend him off and grab the win during the race billed as the Marcel Cassulo Classic.
“It was a great win, and hopefully we can keep this No. 4SA machine rolling at the front,” Sanders said. “Thanks to Dale and Tara Miller and all the great people that support this team.”
