PETERSEN MEDIA: Fresh off of his first trip to the Knoxville Raceway, Justin Sanders is poised for Saturday night’s 56th Annual Johnny Key Classic at the Ocean Speedway pitting the Civil War Series vs. the Ocean Sprints.
“We were fortunate enough to lock into this race by winning the last race here before we took off to Knoxville, and we are going to give it everything we’ve got,” Justin Sanders said.
Amidst a 2016 season that has been turbulent at times after a 2015 season that saw Sanders win 20 races and claim the Ocean Speedway Track Championship, the Watsonville, CA driver comes into Saturday night’s event as the tracks’ most recent winner and fresh off of a 15th place finish during his first 360ci Nationals at the Knoxville Raceway.
With two wins to his credit at the Ocean Speedway thus far, Sanders will be a threat to claim the 56th Annual Johnny Key Classic aboard his North County Plastering/Lufo’s Custom Design/STS Trucking entry, as he has already secured a spot in the six lap Dash for Cash on Saturday night.
“The Ocean Speedway is home to me, and this is the track’s marquee event and I would love to win it” Sanders added. “I am mentally and physically ready for a 50-lap feature event, and this JSR team is going for it. This team has a ton of locally based partners that we appreciate, and would be huge for all them as well.”
