PETERSEN MEDIA- Amidst a strong season with Beck Racing, Idaho driver, Justin Segura made the Gun Slingers Sprint Car Series season finale a memorable one, as he wired the field and picked up his first career win with the series.
“It is such a blast racing for this Beck Racing team and heading into the Gun Slingers finale I was poised to bring some hardware home,’ Justin Segura said. “We were really fast all night long and it made for a great night.”
By way of winning the Man of Steel Dash, Segura found himself on the front row of the final race of the season with the Gun Slingers Sprint Car Season. Looking to cap off a strong season with Beck Racing and claim Rooke of the Year honors, Segura was hard on the throttle when the race came to life.
Despite taking on a field of traditional pavement winged sprint cars aboard a converted dirt car, Segura would not be denied on this night as he hit his marks and kept the field behind him.
Poised and in control out front, Segura would keep 2019 Gun Slingers Champion, Austin Carter, behind him in second and Gordon Rogers at bay in third.
Leading flag to flag, Segura picked up the impressive win, and also capped of his Rookie of the Year campaign.
“Heading to California I told myself I wanted to bring home some hardware, and we were able to do just that,’ Segura added. “I have never been so happy to put a car in victory lane before and this is for sure going to be one I remember for a long time.”
ON TAP: Segura now readies for a showdown with the King of the Wing Series on November 9that Irwindale Speedway and November 10that Kern County Raceway Park.
