Justyn Cox Records Top-10 During NARC Finale

PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting in one final night of action in 2022 on Saturday night, Justyn Cox picked up a 10th place finish aboard the Bates Hamilton Racing No. 42x during the NARC season finale event at The Stockton Dirt Track.

“I am really appreciative of the great opportunity that Josh Bates and Roger Hamilton gave me to drive for them during the last few months of the 2022 season,” Justyn Cox said. “Saturday night we had a really good car, we had great speed, but in the feature, I just made some mistakes in the rough that cost us a few spots. Still happy to come away with a Top-10, just think we had a car that was capable of a few spots better.”

Timing the Teichert/Vinyltech/Kaeding Performance backed No. 42x in ninth fastest, Cox would race his way to a heat race win on a very hooked up Stock Dirt Track surface.

Based on his qualifying time and his heat race finish, Cox was able to garner enough event points to qualify for the Sunnyvalley Meats Dash where his fifth-place finish put him in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

The race’s first two attempts at a start would get waived off to Cox’s dismay as both attempts saw him stick inside the Top-5. The third attempt would not be kind to Cox as he hooked a rut in turn one and two and the bobble saw him slip back to eighth.

With the track tough to pass on, Cox would work his way back into seventh as he raced by Max Mittry. Running in seventh when a late caution flag flew, the ensuing restart saw Cox nearly get over as a bottle neck of cars got together tiptoeing through a hole.

Once he settled back into the racing groove, Cox was back in 10th where he would hang on to finish.

“It has been a blast working with these guys, and I am so thankful I was able to run with them as much as I did to close the season out,” Cox added.

The Cox-Berco Racing team would like to thank Berco Redwood, Berry Lumber, Michael David Winery, MDW Sports, Stroppini Enterprises, Cranked Naturals, Trex, Master Metal Products, Adrian Blanco Jewelry, PM Truck Repair, Justice Brothers, K&N, Konnected, A.R.T., Sacramento Theatrical Lighting, College Cyclery, Arai, Racing Optics, All American Powder Coating, VSR, , Tim’s Hot Rod Shop, Shell Shock, Don Ott Racing Engines, and Richmond Engines for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-30, Wins-1, Top 5’s-5, Top 10’s-15
