PETERSEN MEDIA: As California Micro Speedweek kicks off this coming week, Garth Kasiner will have a ton of momentum on his side as he is fresh off of his third consecutive after his Saturday night triumph at the Budweiser Nationals in Visalia, CA.

Sweeping the Summer Sizzler in Stockton, CA one week ago, Kasiner continued to go strong during the weather-shortened event on Saturday night at Plaza Park Raceway.

Running two heat races instead of using time trials, Kasiner would line up on the pole of his first heat race. Getting the jump, the Five Points, CA driver would pick up the win aboard the West Hills Oil/CS9/Security Race Products No. 21g.

Lining up at the tail end of his second heat race, Kasiner would gain valuable points as he was able to race his way to a fifth place finish, and place his Roger Vogt’s Performance Auto & Air/Irritec P1 Drop Tape/Keizer Wheels backed entry on the pole for the Budweiser Nationals Restricted 600 feature event.

When the green flag was displayed to the field, Kasiner was hard on the throttle as he jumped into the early lead and quickly went to work on the cushion. Kasiner’s lead, however, would be short lived, as he would be shuffled back to the second spot on the second lap.

Back in the second position, Kasiner would go to school as he dropped down to the bottom groove and chased after the race leader. Closing in on the leader lap after lap, Kasiner would be patient as he waited for the right time to pounce.

As the laps clicked down, Kasiner continued to run in the second spot as the two leaders had distanced themselves from the field by an extremely wide margin. Running in traffic, a late yellow would get the slower traffic out of the way and put Kasiner on the leaders bumper for a shootout to the checkered flag.

Rather than follow his competitor around the bottom of the speedway, Kasiner committed to the top and would make it work as he continued to stalk his prey.

With two laps to go, the Five Points, CA pilot would use his momentum off of turn four to get under the race leader and slide up in front of him to take the lead out of the exit of turn two.

Leading the final lap and a half, Kasiner would successfully pick up his seventh feature event win of the season.

Garth Kasiner would like to thank West Hills Oil, CS9, Security Race Products, Roger Vogt’s Performance Auto & Air, Irritec P1 Drop Tape, Keizer Wheels, Factory Kahne, Kasiner Farms Inc., B&B Ag Transport LLC, Superior, Soil Supplements, Simplot, and Fresno Equipment Company for their support.
