PETERSEN MEDIA: Continuing to transition into the Super 600, Garth Kasiner would have a very nice weekend in Dixon, CA at the 5th Annual Lonnie Kasier Memorial, however a safety issue late in the race would cause him to pull of the racing surface early.
The two-day program kicked off with Kasiner timing the West Hills Oil/CS9/Security Race Products backed No. 21G machine in fifth quickest in qualifying time trials.
Moving on to his heat race, the Five Points, CA driver would have a nice battle with Greg DeCaires, Jr though would settle for a second place finish at the stripe. Moving into the Dash, Kasiner would continue to hold his own against some tough Super 600 veterans as he would finish fifth, which put him in the third row of the feature event.
In the feature event, Kasiner seemed to be right up to speed as he was able to make quick work of a couple of his opponents as he soon found himself on the podium. Continuing to run well, Kasiner would experience some issues with his safety equipment and making a smart decision, the youngster would retire from the event and begin to focus on this weekend’s event.
