PETERSEN MEDIA- With one night of action at the Knoxville Raceway under her belt, Harli White and her Harli White Racing team checked back in at the ‘Mecca of Mud’ last weekend for the 360 Nationals, and the Lindsay, OK driver took her lumps and learned some things about the famed ½ mile.

“Knoxville is one of those places where you have to be so good on your set up, and as me and my dad continue to learn about Knoxville, we just struggled on our prelim night,” Harli White said.

Qualifying on Friday night, White timed her MVT/Jerry Tucker Roustabout/Lucas Oil backed No. 17w entry in 35th fastest against the 56 cars that were checked into the pit area.

Lining up in the fourth row of her heat race, White would finish in the seventh spot, and take a trip to the B main, for a final shot at making the preliminary night feature event.

Gridding the field from the 14th spot, White admittedly got a lesson in dirty air, as she got in the corner behind a car, and the result was her machine pushing up into the wall, and ending her night early.

“It was a tough night, but at the end of the day, we learned some things as a team, and as a driver I learned the hard way about dirty air, but we fixed it and moved on,” she said.

Saturday night saw White line up in the D main, with her work cut out for her to make the feature event.

Lining up in the back of the pack, White had 10-laps to make a big charge, but on this night it wasn’t meant to be, and White ended her 360 Nationals with a 17th place finish in the D.

“Overall we learned a ton about the Knoxville Raceway,” she added. “We went into a pretty big race with only one night of experience and we paid the price. We will be back next year with a starting point, and hopefully we can improve on this result.”

Harli White Racing would like to thank Mesilla Valley Transportation, Jerry Tucker Roustabout, Lucas Oil, Charlie’s Trucking, PXP Racewear, All Star Cafe, Boyd’s Racing Engines, Race Chic, Crash Enterprises, Outlaw Wings, Super Flow Testers, Simpson, Classic Seagulls UK, Eagle Motorsports, and the Shriners Hospital For Children Gavelston for their support during the 2014 season.

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-34, Wins-0, Top 5’s-5, Top 10’s-11.

ON TAP: White will now take a couple of weekends off as he gets her midget program in order, but will return to action on August 16th at the Salina Highbanks.
