A hard fought 50-lap feature event, Tim Shaffer would use KSE Racing Products to fend off Aaron Reutzel and become the first ever Sprint Car World Champion.
The World of Outlaws returned to the track that started it all, Devils Bowl Speedway and it was a pair of series Champions who took home wins. Piloting his Kasey Kahne Racing entry, Daryn Pittman won Friday night’s opener before Donny Schatz parked in victory lane following the Texas Outlaw Nationals.
In California a trio of familiar faces found victory lane as Willie Croft used his KSE Racing Products to pick up the Sprint Car Challenge Tour win in Petaluma, CA, Dominic Scelzi was able to grab the season opening win at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA, and Justin Sanders used some late race magic to score another win at Ocean Speedway.
Matt Covington and Mark Smith picked up ASCS wins, while Justin Grant was victorious with the USAC Silver Crown series and Greg Hodnett top honors at Port Royal Speedway.
