PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to the seat of the potent Roth Motorsports No. 83jr entry after spending his winter racing in Australia, Kyle Hirst survived a wild night at the Thunderbowl Raceway where he recorded a 15th place finish after working his way up into the Top-10 early in the night.

“We had a really good car, and were able to make some moves on starts, and restarts and gain some positions early, but we got collected in a wreck that put us to the back,” Kyle Hirst said. “Dennis and Teresa Roth have been so good to me the last few years, and I am very thankful, and excited, to be back racing with them again.”

Timing the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle No. 83jr in sixth fastest in his qualifying flight, the Elk Grove, CA native turned Paradise, CA resident would go on to pick up a fourth place finish in his heat race and transfer into the feature event.

Gridding the field from the eighth row for the 35-lap World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series A Main event on what was an extremely fast and narrow racing surface, Hirst was able to do what many couldn’t on this night, and that was pass cars.

Going to the extreme top of the 1/3 mile track, Hirst would work his way inside the Top-10 as he soon battled with Sammy Swindell and Kerry Madsen.

Working his way as high as the eighth spot, Hirst would find himself in the ninth spot when the race went yellow on the 15th lap. When the green lights flashed back on, trouble would ensue in front of Hirst and with nowhere to go he would get collected in a multiple car wreck.

Able to tag the back of the pack, Hirst would try to work his way back forward but with a battered machine he would settle for a 15th place finish.

“It was a bummer to have both Roth Motorsports cars collected in that wreck, because I think the both of us were going to have pretty good finishes,” Hirst added. “I want to thank my guys for their hard work, and again I really have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for continuing to give me a great opportunity.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, Roth Investments, 3H Cattle,  Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2016.
