Kyle Hirst Hard Charges with C&M Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending his Saturday night at the helm of the C&M Motorsports No. 7c on Saturday night in Placerville, CA, Kyle Hirst rebounded well from a tough qualifying effort as he charged from 17th to seventh during a nearly non-stop 25-lap feature.

“Unfortunately, we just missed it in time trials, and I didn’t turn in the best laps, and it put us behind early,” Kyle Hirst said. “Cody and his guys really gave me a great car the rest of the night and we raced really well.”

With 37 cars on hand Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, Hirst would get off to an unusually tough start as he timed in 23rd fastest in qualifying time trials.

Missing the heat race inversion, Hirst had his work cut out for himself as he lined the Legacy Specialties Inc./Lund Construction/Anrak backed No. 7c up in the sixth starting position in his heat race.

On a very slick racing surface, Hirst rolled his wing back and went to work in the slick as he carved his way forward on a very racy Placerville Speedway. Racing into third, Hirst garnered a transfer position into the feature event though would still be in a hole as he took the green flag from the 17th starting position.

With minor track prep taking place before the 25-lap feature event, the C&M Motorsports team made subtle changes to their car and sent Hirst out to attack the slick ¼ mile bullring.

As the race came to life, Hirst picked up a couple of positions very quickly as he jumped into 14th. Racing in a tight pack, passing would be tough at times as traffic would clog the racing surface.

Getting into 13th, Hirst moved into 12th following a late restart. With laps clicking down, Hirst continued to come to life as he moved into 11th on the 20th lap.

Cracking the Top-10 with the white flag in the air, Hirst would make a crucial move as cars got bottled up with a slowing car and surged to seventh coming to the finish line.

“We really could have used a couple more restart in the feature, and that 19-lap nonstop run to open the race was not what I wanted at all because we used that restart to our advantage,” Hirst added. “It was a fun night with the C&M Motorsports team, and I have to thank Cody and Mandi for letting me wheel the car for them.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Legacy Specialties Inc., Lund Construction, Anrak, Sam Rhodes, Alturas Tires, Swartz Diesel, PT Shocks, Creason Enterprises, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.

ON TAP: C&M Motorsports will return to action on Monday night in Placerville, CA for the 4th of July Spectacular.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-10, Wins-0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-6
