PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back to work with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour over the weekend, Andy Forsberg would get out of shape late in the race, and contact would cut down his left side tires and knock him out of the Top-10.

“We had a decent night going, and then I went and got out of shape and contact ensued giving up a couple of flat tires,” Andy Forsberg said. “We came in and made repairs but it was pretty fast and tough to make up ground from the back and we ended up 15th.”

With 26 cars checked in, Forsberg would time the Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 machine in second quickest in his group for time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the driver who hails from Auburn, CA would pick up a second place finish which would be good enough to place him in the 10th starting position for the 35-lap feature event.

Not unusual for Petaluma Speedway, moisture in the surface would come back prior to the feature event and the track would be fast which some rough patches for the 35-lap affair.

Running in the 10th position for much of the night, Forsberg would get out of shape on the 23rd lap, and contact would lead to both left side tires getting cut down as he came to a stop and brought out the caution flag.

Taking his machine to the work area, the F&F Racing crew was able to change both tires and get Forsberg back out to tag the rear of the field.

Able to pick up a couple of positions in the final stanza of the race, Forsberg would end his night with a 15th place finish.

“It has definitely been an interesting couple of weeks for our team, but the guys are working hard, and we have a fast car,” Forsberg added. “We will look to get back in victory lane this weekend in Placerville, CA.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Geico Local Office, PitStopUSA, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, FVP, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2019.
