Late Roll Over Ends Justin Sanders’ Top Five Bid During 4th of July Action at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Making his return to Placerville Speedway for the first time since late May, Justin Sanders and the Dale Miller Motorsports team had a strong night going until a lap 23 roll over ended their night early.

“It was fun to get back to Placerville with Dale Miller and the No. 4SA car,” Justin Sanders said. “We had a pretty good night going, I just hit the cushion wrong, and it sent us upside down.”

With a total of 32 cars checked in to spend their holiday at Placerville Speedway, Sanders would time the Thompson’s Buick-GMC/Thompson’s Jeep-Ram/Dale Miller Septic backed entry in eighth fastest in time trials.

Moving into heat race action, the Aromas, CA driver would make a mid-race move that gave him the top spot. Needing to pick up the win to make the redraw, Sanders would hang on to the lead as he picked up the win and ended up pulling the seven pill.

On a very slick surface that had built up a thick cushion on both ends of the speedway, Sanders would take the green flag from the seventh starting position.

A great jump when the action came to life would see him jump into the fifth position. Running fifth for much of the race, Sanders would get up to fourth just before the halfway point and would actually slip back to sixth amidst some close quarters racing.

Able to get back to fifth, Sanders looking poised to capture his ninth Top-Five finish with Dale Miller in 2021, however, on lap 23 he would hit the cushion wrong in turns one and two and it would see him machine get upside down and end his night.

“I have to thank Dale and his team for unloading a fast car again,” Sanders said. “We have kind of had a couple of tough endings to our nights the last two times we have been here, so hopefully we when get back up to Placerville things go a little more smoothly.”
