PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to action this coming weekend, Lucas Ashe will pilot his Lucas Ashe Racing No. 33 entry on Saturday night with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour in Placerville, CA, but before he does that he will make his first ever start aboard a 410ci sprint car on Friday night in Chico, CA.
“I am really excited to get back to racing the sprint car this weekend,” Lucas Ashe said. “We have a big weekend planned with my first ever 410ci start on Friday night in Chico, CA and my first start with the SCCT on Saturday night in Placerville, CA”
For Ashe, he will make a return trip to Chico, CA after making his first ever start at the Northern California ¼ mile during the Silver Cup back in early March. While competing in a 360ci car then, Ashe is hopeful the seat time will help in his endeavor on Friday night.
“Though we haven’t ran much so far, I am pretty confident my guys will get me comfortable with the bigger engine on Friday night, and I feel pretty good about getting back to Silver Dollar Speedway,” Ashe noted. “It has been great being teamed up with Van Dyke Motorsports so far, and I have to thank Harley for stepping up and allowing us to run on Friday.”
Saturday night Ashe will then return to 360ci action as he will make his debut at Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA taking part in the Sprint Car Challenge Tour’s second event of the season.
“Placerville is a track that I am excited to finally get to run on,” Ashe added. “I have watched quite a few races there, and am looking forward to the challenge ahead with a tough field of cars.”
