PETERSEN MEDIA- Checking into Keller Auto Speedway on Saturday night for Kings of Thunder action, Cole Macedo would have a fast Tarlton Motorsports sprinter under him, but a late steering issue would end his night.
“We had a really fast car all night long, but we just had some bad luck,” Cole Macedo said. “Thanks to the Tarlton’s, Paul Baines, and my family for all their hard work, support, and effort.”
Going out late in time trials, Macedo would get all he could out of the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales/Pabco Gypsum backed No. 21x machine as he ended up timing in 12th quickest.
Pocketing a heat race win, Macedo would move into the Dash where a fifth place finish put him in the third row to start the 30-lap feature event. With a fast machine underneath him, Macedo would settle into the fourth position.
Continuing to work around the Keller Auto Speedway surface, Macedo would hang right in the lead pack until trouble struck on the 10th lap. Having a steering issue, Macedo’s machine would veer off the racing surface, and it would head back to the trailer and bring his night to an early end.
“It was a bummer to break, because I thought our car was really good,” Macedo added. “Fun to get back in Hanford and race, and big thanks to everyone that helps this Tarlton Motorsports team.”
