PETERSEN MEDIA- After getting dumped early in the Friday night feature event, Carson Macedo came out strong Saturday as he charged from the 19th starting spot to finish ninth.

“I love driving this Tarlton Motorsports car, and have to thank Paul Baines and all of the guys for giving me a great car,” Carson Macedo said.

Timing the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino/Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc. No. 21x machine in 16th fastest in time trials, the Lemoore, CA native would advance from fourth to finish third in his heat race.

Moving directly into the feature event, the former King of the West titlist would grid the field from the sixth row for the 35-lap ‘A’ main event. On a tricky surface, Macedo would get going in the early stages of the race before a stoppage occurred on the ninth lap.

The ensuing restart would see contact from another competitor get the Tarlton Motorsports machine out of shape and upside down into the fence ultimately bringing Macedo’s night to and end.

Abel to escape the wreckage without injury, Macedo and Tarlton Motorsports would return to action on Saturday night where he would have an uncharacteristically slow start to the night as he timed in 27th quickest in time trials.

Lining up seventh in his heat race, Macedo would take care of business as he would pick up the final transfer spot into the feature event with his fifth place finish, which would place him 19th on the starting grid for the final race of the weekend.

With the track slick and racy on Saturday night, Macedo was hard on the throttle as he worked his way forward from the back of the pack. Running a patient race, Macedo would find himself up near the Top-10 battling with DJ Netto, as well as with Tim Kaeding.

As the laps ran down, rubber would soon go down on the speedway and much passing progress would come to a halt. Though he would try to grab a spot on a couple of late occasions, Macedo would end his weekend with a hard fought ninth place finish.

Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2017 season.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 2, Wins: 0, Top 5’s: 0, Top 10’s: 0.

ON TAP: Macedo and the Tarlton Motorsports team will be back in action Friday and Saturday night in Tulare, CA.
