PETERSEN MEDIA- Checking in to the Attica Raceway Park on Friday night for the Kistler Engines Challenge, Kerry Madsen would pick up his 37th Top-10 of the season aboard his Keneric Racing/American Racing No. 29 machine.

“We had a really good night overall. We just went a little too far tightening up for the feature event, but it was a good Top-10 for our team,” Kerry Madsen noted.

41 cars checked into the pit area for the Friday night show, and Madsen got his night started off by timing his KPC/Morrison Racing Engines powered entry in 14th fastest.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, ‘The Mad Man’ would capitalize on the prime starting spot and pick up the heat race win. With the win, Madsen would earn a berth in the Dash where he would line up in the fourth row.

With the surface continuing to slick off, Madsen would better his main even starting position by posting a sixth place finish, putting him in the third row for the 40-lap A Main Event.

The feature event saw Madsen search all over the Attica Raceway Park as he looked for a line to get moving forward, as he fought a tight racecar.

“With it being so slick, we wanted to get our car tight enough to move forward, but we went a little too far,” Madsen added.

Battling with the likes of Jason Sides, and Donny Schatz during the feature event, the 2014 Kings Royal Champion would close his Friday night out with a 10th place finish.

“We were okay with the Top-10,” Madsen added. “We were more disappointed with the World of Outlaws race on Saturday getting rained out, and then getting to Knoxville to race, and having that rain out too. Huge thanks to my guys for their work, the Gavranich family, and the American Racing Custom Wheels team for their continued support.”

2015 BY THE NUMBERS- Starts-45, Wins-6, Top-5’s-24, Top 10’s-37

ON TAP: Madsen and his Keneric Racing team return to action on Wednesday night at the Kokomo Speedway, Friday night at the I 80 Speedway, and on Saturday night at the Lakeside Speedway.
