Mason Moore 12th at Stockton Dirt Track with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour

PETERSEN MEDIA- Mason Moore and the F&F Racing team overcame mechanical issues on Friday night at Placerville Speedway and rebounded to finish 12th on Saturday night with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour at Stockton Dirt Track.

“It has been a rough couple of weeks since getting back into California, but it was good to get in the feature on Saturday night and have some speed,” Mason Moore said.

Saturday night at Stockton Dirt Track, Moore kicked his night off by timing the Geico/Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes/Twisted Tea No. x1 machine fourth quickest in his group which placed him on the front row of his heat race.

In a prime spot in heat race action, Moore would race his way to the important heat race win which would guarantee him a starting spot inside the Top-10. When all heats were completed, Moore would find himself in the fifth row for the 35-lap feature event.

From the 10th starting position, Moore would lose a few spots early on the slick surface as he searched for some moisture. As more raced around in the 12th spot he would be collected by F&F Racing teammate, Colby Copeland who had suspension issues.

Though able to re-fire, Moore would before to the back of the pack on the eighth circuit. From the tail end of the field, Moore had his elbows up as he carved his way toward the Top-10. As the track began to take rubber and most of the field settled into line, Moore would find himself back up in the 12th spot where he would hold on to finish.

Friday night the F&F Racing team was also in action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour as they invaded Placerville Speedway. Timing in seventh quickest in his time trial group, Moore would finish seventh in his heat race.

Moving into the semi, mechanical issues would plague the No. X1 sprinter, and his night would come to an early end.

“Following our mechanical issues Friday night, everyone was pretty frustrated, but nobody was ready to give up,” Moore added. “It was a good shot in the arm to come out strong on Saturday night, and work our way back forward after an early issue.”

Moore would like to thank Geico, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Twisted Tea, Levin’s Auto Supply, Garth Moore Insurance, LRB Race Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Sierra Single Ply, Lucas Oil, RPI, and Encore Catering for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Moore and the F&F Racing team will take a couple of weeks off before returning to Placerville Speedway for the regular season finale on Saturday September 16th.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-24, Wins-1, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-6.
