PETERSEN MEDIA- Mason Moore and Brian Cannon Motorsports returned to action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on Saturday night in Stockton, CA and their night would end in the ‘B’ Main. Getting valuable track time, Moore and company will now take part in a big weekend highlighted by Saturday night’s Asparagus Cup back at Stockton Dirt Track.
“It was a pretty tough night on Saturday,” Mason Moore said. “We are already looking to put it behind us and are looking forward to Chico on Friday in the Mason Moore Racing No. 22 and Stockton again on Saturday in the Brian Cannon Motorsports No. 47.”
With 53 cars on hand for the annual Jimmy Sills Classic, Moore would time the Mike’s Harder Lemonade/Garth Moore Insurance/FK Rod Ends backed machine in sixth quickest in his time trial group.
Lining up in the third row of his heat race, the Princeton, CA driver would finish sixth and find himself in the 15-lap ‘B’ Main where he would take the green flag from the seventh starting position.
On the slick surface, Moore admittedly could not do much of anything from the fourth row. Needing to move into the top-four to advance to the ‘A’, Moore would search around but would end up losing a position as his night ended with an eighth place finish in the ‘B’.
“Those are the kind of nights you look to flush quick and hopefully don’t have too many of,” Moore said. “We are all looking forward to getting back to Chico, CA on Friday night after the last run we had up there, and are excited about another shot at Stockton on Saturday night.”
