PETERSEN MEDIA- With Mother Nature forcing Matt Peterson to take last weekend off, the Wilton, CA driver returned to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night and picked up a seventh place finish aboard his V&H Fresh/Miller Lite/Inventory Sales Company No. p37 machine.

“We had a really good car, and I made some mistakes that took us away from a podium finish, but we were all happy with the overall night,” Matt Peterson said.

With 22 cars at the high banked ¼ mile speedway on Saturday night, Peterson kicked his night off by timing the Bear Trucking/Future Energy Savers/Transportation Services entry in third quickest, putting him in the second row of the third heat race.

From his fourth place starting position, Peterson would score a third place finish in his heat race, and earn a spot in the night’s Top-8 redraw. Finding himself with the four pill, Peterson would grid the field in the second row for the 25-lap main event.

Running well inside the Top-Five, Peterson would hook up in a very entertaining battle with Mike Benson. As he looked for away around, Peterson would attack the Placerville cushion looking to drive around, but was unable to do so. Continuing to push the envelope, Peterson would ultimately get up over the cushion, and lose a few positions, and fall back to the seventh spot, where he would go on to finish.

“We had a really good car, and I was trying everything I could to get another position,” he said. “Unfortunately I pushed the issue a little to hard, and got up over the cushion. Huge shout out the Brian Cannon, and the guys who work on this car, because we had a very strong machine on Saturday night.”

Matt and his team would like to thank V&H Fresh, Miller Lite, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Future Energy Savers, Transportation Services, The Oil Medics, Shell Shock, Vahlco Wheels, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2015.
