PETERSEN MEDIA- One week after winning his first race, and following it up with a second place run, Matt Peterson was a little disappointed with his performance personally, but it was a great one as he rallied back to an eighth place finish after being involved in a first lap pile-up.

“After the week we had, I thought it was disappointing to finish eighth, but to come from the back and finish eighth at Placerville is a pretty cool feeling,” Peterson said.

Peterson opened his night up by timing his V&H Fresh/Miller Lite/Inventory Sales backed No. p37 entry second fastest against the 27 cars that were checked into the pit area.

Heat race action saw the Wilton, CA driver work from his fourth starting spot, to finish in the second position earning himself a transfer into the feature event, and making himself eligible for the Top-8 redraw.

As fate would have it, Peterson would find himself with the vaunted eight pill, putting him in the fourth row for the feature event. When the action went green a wreck in turn one collected Peterson, and he was forced to give up his starting position, and tag the rear of the field.

Restarting in the 20th spot, Peterson was very patient on the Placerville Speedway as he carved his way forward, through traffic during a very long green flag run.

Working into the Top-10 late in the race, Peterson was able to get back to the eighth spot, when the checkered flag flew for the last time during weekly competition at the Placerville Speedway.

“Placerville just messes with me it seems,” Peterson said. “It is always something there, but it was nice to show some speed during the feature and move forward. Lee and the boys worked hard, and we are looking forward to getting back up there this weekend.”

Matt and his team would like to thank V&H Fresh, Miller Lite, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Future Energy Savers, Transportation Services, The Oil Medics, Shell Shock, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2014.

ON TAP: Peterson and his team will now return to action on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway with the Civil War Series Presented By Flowmaster.
