Mitchell Faccinto Scores First Win with Tarlton Motorsports at John Padjen Classic Silver Cup

PETERSEN MEDIA- With Friday night weather being a huge question mark, the Tarlton Racing team opted to hold off on making the trek to Chico, CA until Saturday night and it paid off as Mitchell Faccinto picked up his first win of the season with the team as he captured the John Padjen Classic Silver Cup.

“I was thrilled with how the night went,’ Mitchell Faccinto said. “I buried us a bit in qualifying, so we had to get out of our heat to get the track position in the feature. Able to do that, and get a really good draw for the Dash, plus having a great car, was big in us getting the win.”

Timing the Tarlton and Son Inc./EZ Haul/Executive Auto Sales backed No. 21 machine in fourth fastest in his qualifying group, the Hanford, CA driver would like up in the fourth starting spot of his heat race on a very fast racing surface.

With the outside lane getting the jump, Faccinto was able to forge his way to into second, which was vital as the top two finishers in each heat advanced into the Dash. Hanging onto second, Faccinto would keep his good night going as the two-pill placed him on the front row of the Dash.

Getting the jump, Faccinto would set a torrid pace in the quick shootout as he would win and earn the right to lead the field to green for the $5700-to-win John Padjen Classic Silver Cup feature event.

When the field was shown the green flag, Faccinto was hard on the throttle and jumped out to the early lead in a race that would soon be mired with cautions and stoppages.

Turning in countless picture-perfect restarts, Faccinto would jump out to a comfortable advantage each and every time. Getting into traffic on multiple occasions, Faccinto would make all of the right moves as he went on to secure his first win in just his second start with Tarlton Motorsports.

“In two nights, we have had great speed, but on Saturday night we were just focused on getting my more comfortable early in the night so I could drive it harder later in the night and I think it worked,” Faccinto added. “I am super happy to get the win for Tom and Tommy Tarlton, the guys who work on this thing, and all our partners. I am really excited for this upcoming Outlaw swing.”

BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 2, Wins: 1, Top 5’s: 1, Top 10’s: 2.
