PETERSEN MEDIA: Though the result sheet wont show just how good he was, DJ Netto showed poise during two night’s of action with the World of Outlaws in Tulare, CA.

“After the trip to Vegas we had, it was nice to get back going strong again in Tulare, CA,” DJ Netto said. “We ended up not finishing both nights, but I was happy with how our car felt both nights, and happy with the speed we had.”

Forced to overcome a slow start following Friday night’s 31st quick effort in qualifying time trials, Netto would finish seventh in his heat race aboard the Tri-C Manufacturing/Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain backed No. 3c.

Making a stop in the Last Chance Showdown, the Hanford, CA driver would put on a show from his 11th starting position. With a heavy right foot, Netto would race his way to a third place finish and keep his night going as he advanced to the 35-lap feature event.

Lining up 23rd in the A, Netto would continue to move forward on the aggressive Thunderbowl Raceway. Working his way up to the 16th spot, Netto would get into the wall and collapse his right rear wheel and would be scored in the 20th spot.

Saturday night would see Netto build on the speed he found Friday night as he would time in fourth fastest overall in time trials before recording a second place finish in his heat race.

Lining up eighth in the Dash, Netto would improve his starting spot in the feature event by one row, and would take the green flag for the 35-lapper from the sixth starting spot.

The initial start would be good to the Hanford, CA product as he jumped up into the fourth spot.

Battling with the likes of Brad Sweet, and Shane Stewart, Netto would continue to hold down a top-five position. When the caution flew on the 11th lap, Netto felt his right rear going down on air pressure. Hoping to build the pressure back up during green flag racing, Netto would remain on the track.

When the racing action came back to life, things were tough on Netto as the flat right rear tire would make his car a bit difficult to maneuver as he slowly lost positions. As the laps clicked on, Netto’s machine got worse and he ultimately would pull into the infield with a flat and be credited with a 22nd place finish.

“We were really good in the B and the A on Friday night, and all night Saturday,” Netto added. “My guys worked hard and really got me feeling good again, but it didn’t work out for us. We will keep at it and see what we can do this week in Stockton, CA.”
