PETERSEN MEDIA- Leaving the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night frustrated with his result, Matt Peterson was quick to thank his team for all of their hard work.
“It was an off night, but my guys worked so hard all night long, and I truly appreciate their effort,” Peterson said.
Returning to action with the Civil War Series Presented By Flowmaster, Peterson would get his night started off by timing the Miller Lite/V&H Fresh/Inventory Sales Company No. p37 machine in 15th fastest.
Finding himself in the third row of his heat race, the Wilton, CA driver would finish in the fifth position, placing him in the eighth row of the 30-lap feature event on the dry-slick Placerville Speedway racing surface.
On a track that he had admittedly struggled at during his brief career, Peterson would find himself battling with veteran driver, Jonathan Allard, as the duo worked their way through the field.
With drivers finding passing tough at times during the duration of the race, Peterson would find himself inside the Top-10, as the race began the home stretch.
A late restart would see Peterson’s Bear Trucking/Future Energy Savers/Transportation Services machine struggle to find grip, and he would lose a few positions as he took the Ed Entz checkered flag in the 13th spot.
“Placerville has always been tough on me, but I was hoping for a better result with how hard we have worked at the track all year long,” he added. “We got our spare car put together at the last minute, so I am thankful to everyone who helped make it even possible to race on Saturday night.”
