PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking to the high-speed 3/8 mile, Gray’s Harbor Raceway in Elma, WA, Robbie Price overcame a late flat tire to pick up a sixth place finish on Saturday night.
“Overall it was a pretty good night for us,” Price said. “We had Willie Kahne with us as we experimented with some new FK Twin Tube shocks, and we thank him a ton for taking the time to do so.”
Timing in sixth fastest in qualifying time trials, Price would pick up a third place finish in heat race action, putting his Raylle Auto Sales/Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing mount in the third row for the feature event.
As the feature event came to life, the 16-year-old Cobble Hill, BC pilot worked his way into the Top-Five, as he adjusted to his new shock package. Ripping off some great laps, bad luck with bite Price, as he would run over debris, and cut down a tire, forcing him into the work area, and giving up his spot inside the Top-Five.
With his team making repairs to his machine, Price would tag the back of the pack with just a handful of laps left in the race. Keeping cool under his collar, Price would not over drive in the final laps, as he calmly worked his way back up to a sixth place finish at the finish line.
“We have been pretty good as of late, and it is thanks in part to all of the people who have helped us out, and got us going in the right direction,” Price said. “It was a bummer to cut a tire on Saturday night, but it was nice to rebound a finish inside the Top-10.”
