PETERSEN MEDIA- Going to battle with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on Saturday night in Stockton, CA, C&M Motorsports had Tony Gualda back at the controls of the No. 7c machine. Having good speed, gremlins seemed to follow Gulada all night long before ending the team’s night on 16th lap.

“Our night started off really well, and we were really fast,” Tony Gualda said. “We had some bad luck in the feature, but overall we were good and I can’t thank Cody and Mandy enough for this chance they have given me.”

With 39 cars checked into the pit area in Stockton, CA on Saturday night, Gualda timed the PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness/Pacific Highway Rentals backed No. 7c sprinter in 10th fastest overall and fourth fastest in his group.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Gualda would get out to the early lead until a yellow would bunch the field back up. Losing a couple of spots on the restart, Gualda would then mistakenly pull all of his tear offs off his helmet and vision would tricky as he slipped back to finish fifth.

Forced into the ‘B’ Main, Gualda would line up on the pole and go on to pick up the win and advance into the 35-lap SCCT feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 14th starting position, the Hollister, CA product would work his way around the slick 4/10 mile Stockton Dirt Track as he worked his way up into the eighth spot in the race’s first 13 laps.

Following a lap 15 restart, Gualda would have issues in turns one and two and bring his machine to a stop and get pushed back to the work area. Able to fix a broken drag link, Gualda would be able to restart only to have rear end issues a lap later bring his night to an end.

“It was just one of those nights where bad luck seemed to find us every time we hit the track,” Gualda added. “I am looking forward to getting back in the 7c soon.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, 51 Fifty Energy Drink, Alturas Tires, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
