Ryan Robinson and Weiher Racing Mount Impressive Charge with Sprint Car Challenge Tour

PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, Ryan Robinson was a man on a mission aboard the Weiher Racing machine as he charged from 17th to finish third with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour during the 30thDave Bradway, Jr Memorial.

“The driver really messed up in time trials and it set us back for the rest of the night,” Ryan Robinson noted. “Luckily, we were able to just sneak into the feature through our heat but starting 17th we had a lot of work to do.”

Checking in with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on Saturday night, Robinson got the night going by timing the Mako Farms, Inc./LP Holdings/Roseville Precision, Inc. entry in seventh fastest in his qualifying group.

Lining up in the fourth row of his heat race, Robinson would have to make a couple of moves to earn one of the five transfer positions into the feature. Able to sneak into fifth, Robinson would successfully punch his ticket into the feature, but would be mired in the field as he took the green from the 17th starting position.

Watching the track progress through the night with preliminary races as well as the KWS series, Robinson and team knew there would be cars on top and bottom, so they gambled and tightening the screws on the No. 14 machine.

Going right through the slick and using the middle of the speedway, Robinson would make it work as he picked up positions a lap at a time.

Breaking into the Top-10 on the seventh lap, Robinson continued to fight forward as he was up in sixth by the race’s halfway point. Continuing to float his machine right through the middle, the Roseville, CA driver would crack the Top-5 on the 22nd lap and still had plenty of time to get more.

When the dust settled on the 35-lap feature, Robinson capped his PitStopUSA Hard Charger efforts with a third-place finish after using a late restart to claim the final spot on the podium.

“Todd and I have really been working on our Placerville Speedway package for a while and I feel like we keep getting it better,” Robinson added. “Saturday night in th feature, it really felt great to put our car where nobody else could and go forward.”

Weiher Racing would like to thank Mako Farms, Inc., LP Holdings, Roseville Precision, Inc., Escalon Body and Frame, Seth’s Racing Engines, Papa Chuck, Dave Harvey Trucking, and Morrison Concrete for their support in 2021!

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-12, Wins-1, Top 5’s-4, Top 10’s-11
