Sean Becker Scores Pair of Top-10’s

PETERSEN MEDIA- The wet weather in Northern California finally stepped aside and allowed racing to resume over the weekend. Getting in two nights of action, Sean Becker picked up a 10th place finish on Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway with Monhoff Racing before finishing 6th on Saturday night in Antioch, CA abord the Bjork Motorsports entry against the Northern Auto Racing Club.

“Both track surfaces that we visited over the weekend were super technical, which made it a really fun weekend of racing,” Sean Becker said. “Friday night in the 360ci at Silver Dollar Speedway, I felt really good in the heat, but we couldn’t really get going in the feature. It was a wild one, and we still managed a Top-10.”

Climbing aboard the Dan Monhoff owned No. 35 on Friday night for an unsanctioned 360ci race in Chico, CA, the driver simply known as ‘The Shark’ timed in 10th quickest in his qualifying flight.

Lining up fifth in his heat race, Becker was very racy in the eight lap tune up. Working his way to a third place finish, the Roseville, CA driver was locked into the feature event and his heat finish put him in the sixth row.

Following a quick track prep session before the ‘A’, the first five laps were then mired with cautions and stoppages and several wrecks took place.

Fortunate not to get collected in any of the wildness of the start of the race, Becker settled in when the race finally began to click off green flag laps. Running well inside the Top-10, Becker wasn’t quite able to work his way forward as he did in his heat race.

When the checkered flag flew over the field, Becker capped the night off with a 10th place finish.

Saturday night, Becker reunited with the Bjork Motorsports team as they headed to Antioch Speedway to take part in the third NARC show of the 2024 season. Getting off to a strong start in 410ci action, Becker timed in fifth fastest in qualifying time trials before he pocketed a second place finish in heat race competition.

Putting himself in the fifth row of the 30-lap feature event, Becker again went to work on another surface that had some added character to it and threw some for a loop.

Running a patient race, Becker was able to mount a charge through the field and he race towards the Top-Five.

Getting into sixth in the waning laps of the race, Becker capped a successful weekend back in a the sprint car off with a sixth place finish.

“Saturday night we were in a great position to earn a good starting spot for the feature, I just didn’t quite execute like I needed to in our heat race,” Sean Becker added. “Fortunately, the guys had the car very good, and I was able to make some moves to and a solid finish for the team.”

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-7, Wins-0, Top 5’s- 1, Top-10’s- 5

ON TAP: Becker will continue to run with NARC this weekend as he will be at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA on Saturday and at Stockton Dirt on Sunday night.
