PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing aboard both the Friends and Family Racing No. x1 machine and the Menne Motorsports No. 75 machine over the weekend, Sean Becker took on the Civil War Series and picked up a pair of Top-10 finishes including a third place effort during the Mel Hall Memorial on Saturday night in Marysville, CA.

Saturday we were really fast all night, but just ran out of time, and Sunday we rebounded from a slow start, but we lost a nose wing, and hung on for what we could,” Sean Becker explained.

Piloting the FnF Racing No. x1 machine on Saturday night, Becker would time in 14th quickest in time trials among the 43 cars checked into the pit area.

Starting on the front row of his heat race, the Roseville, CA resident seized the opportunity in front of him, as he picked up the heat race win and made himself eligible for the Dash.

Lining up on the front row of the Dash, Becker would struggle a bit as he would slip back finish in the fifth position, putting him in the third row for the 30-lap Mel Hall Memorial feature event.

In a race that had it’s fair share of caution flags, restarts did not go Becker’s way, as he seemed to lose track position restart after restart. As the race would settle into a green flag run, Becker was able to work his way into the third spot as he chased after Andy Forsberg and Kyle Hirst.

In the closing laps, Becker would be in the thick of the battle, but would ultimately run out of laps, as he finished in the third position.

Heading to the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA on Sunday night for the annual Silver Dollar Fair Race, Becker would climb back aboard the Menne Motorsports No. 75 machine.

With 43 cars again checking in on Sunday night, Becker would again struggle in time trials, though he would stay within the inversion, as he timed in 15th fastest.

Starting on the front row of his heat race, Becker would make the transfer, but his fourth place finish would put him in the seventh row of the feature event.

The first 1/3 of the race was plagued with caution flags, but once the race settled into a steady flow, Becker was able to make the high side of the speedway work, as he climbed as high as the seventh spot in the running order.

In what was an intense race with wheel to wheel action all over the speedway, Becker would see his nose wing collapse in the closing laps, and it would result in him slipping back to a 10th place finish at the stripe.

“Both cars had really good speed each night, and I just made some mistakes on Sunday night that hurt us overall,” Becker added. “I really want to thank Tony and Jeanie Hunt from Hunt’s Race World for the new fire suit. Hopefully we can get some photos with it in victory lane very soon.”

Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium, Ponybracket.com, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, and K&N for their support in 2015.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 16, Wins- 2, Top 5’s- 11, Top 10’s- 12
