PETERSEN MEDIA: Sean Watts is continuing to lay down consistent laps and gain confidence with the King of the West Series. On Saturday night in Antioch, CA, the Atwater, CA driver picked up a ninth place finish with the series.

“It was a pretty decent night for us,” Watts said. “In the feature we were pretty loose early, but as I got the wing back the car got better before the rubber came. Once it started to lay rubber I got the wing back forward and we were able to pick up some spots.”

Timing the Grizzly Coolers/Schaeffer Racing Oil/Rolfe Construction backed No. 98 car seventh fastest in qualifying time trials, Watts would go on to finish fourth in his heat race as he chased Gio Scelzi across the finish line.

Moving into the 30-lap feature event, Watts would grid the field from the ninth starting position aboard his Billet American/Kaeding Performance/Stealth Homes backed entry on an extremely slick Antioch Speedway racing surface.

Fighting a loose car in the opening stages of the race, Watts would lose some ground as he would fall back outside of the Top-10 as the race got into an extended green flag run after a lap five caution.

As rubber began to go down on the speedway, Watt’s would use it to pick up a couple of spots as he battled with Michael Kofoid and Bud Kaeding for position.

With passing extremely difficult on this night, Watts would work his way back forward and pick up a couple of positions that he had lost and ended the night with a ninth place finish.

“I am really looking forward to some of these tracks we have coming up on the schedule,” Watts added. “It was a good night for us, and thanks to everyone that helps me out.”

Sean and the Watts Rolfe Speed-Sports team would like to thank Grizzly Coolers, Schaeffer Racing Oil, Rolfe Construction, Billet American, Kaeding Performance, Shannon Pumps, Stealth Homes, Tee’s and Tops, Team Simpson, Kistler Racing Engines, and Stan Yockey Motorsports for their continued support.

ON TAP: Watts will be back in action with the King of the West Series on Saturday night in Tulare, CA.
