PETERSEN MEDIA- Meeting up with the World of Outlaws in Washington over Labor Day Weekend and following them to Chico, CA over this past weekend, Kyle Hirst would make every feature and come home with a best sixth place finish on Friday night during the Gold Cup Race of Champions opener.

“I really have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for giving this team the chance to run a ton of World of Outlaw races during the month of September,” Hirst said. “We kind of struggled the first few nights, but it was great to get home and run sixth on Friday night.”

Running at Skagit Speedway, Gray’s Harbor Raceway, and Willamette Speedway with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’, Hirst would acquire a trio of 16th place finishes and one 17th leaving his team and himself hungry heading into Chico, CA.

Friday nigh saw Hirst come out and time the Roth Motorsports entry in third quickest in time trials, giving him a great start to the night before his heat race win moved him into the Dash.

Finishing sixth in the Craftsman Dash, Hirst would line up in the third row for the 30-lap Gold Cup Race of Champions opening night feature event. Hirst would fight hard all race long as he raced with a ton of familiar foes and California seemed to dominate on this night.

Late in the race, Hirst would chase after Roth Motorsports teammate, Cory Eliason, before closing his night out with a welcome Top-10 as he would finish sixth on this night.

Saturday night’s finale saw Hirst and company come in with high expectations, and he would transfer to the feature out of his heat race and would find himself in the seventh row for the 40-lap finale. When the race came to life, Hirst would be unable to get his machine going forward and he closed the extremely busy week out with an 18th place finish.

“My guys, Cori Guy and Michael Hellwig have worked so hard all week long,” Kyle Hirst added. “We didn’t really have the results we wanted but we kept at it and still have a couple of races against these guys to show what we are made of. Again, thanks to the Roth family, Todd Ventura, and everyone else who makes this all possible.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, Roth Investments, 3H Cattle, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2018.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 43, Wins: 10, Top 5’s: 26, Top 10’s: 30.
