Tanner Carrick Charges to 4th at 32nd Bradway Memorial

PETERSEN MEDIA: Bouncing back after a wild flip at the Silver Dollar Fair Race, Tanner Carrick charged from 10thand secured a 4th place finish with the King of the West/NARC Series at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night during the 32nd Dave Bradway Jr Memorial.

“Saturday night we were fast in the feature, I just needed to get us in the Dash to improve our starting position with the way the track ended up being,” Tanner Carrick said.

With 29 cars checked in at Placerville Speedway paying homage to the late, great, Dave Bradway Jr, Tanner Carrick got off to a solid start to the night as he timed in 10th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T up on the front row of his heat race, Carrick needed to pick up a win to garner a berth into the nightly Dash. Chasing after Shane Golobic, Carrick was unable to get the Dash spot away from him, but the second-place finish locked him into the 40-lap feature event.

After a track prep session prior to the start of the feature event, Carrick hit the track looking to make a charge to the front from his 10th starting position.

With passing at a premium during the opening stages of the race, Carrick settled into 10th as the track got back to its slick state that it was prior to the feature.

Making a move to take over eighth on the 10th lap, Carrick moved into seventh as the caution flew at the race’s halfway point. Getting into sixth when things roared back to life, Carrick made his first appearance of the night in the top-five with 13 markers left in the race.

Settling into fifth, Carrick made one final move on the 37th lap as he took over fourth where he went on to cap his night off.

Friday night the Lincoln, CA driver was also in action at Placerville Speedway as he competed with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour to open up Bradway Weekend.

Qualifying fourth within his heat race group, Carrick lined up in the second row of his heat race.

Pocketing a second-place finish, Carrick locked into the feature event as he took the green flag from the 12th starting position. With the track just as slick on this night, Carrick and company made a couple of changes to their car prior to the feature and it resulted in Carrick fighting a car that was a bit too tight to his liking.

Fading back a few positions through the feature, Carrick ended the night with an 18th place finish.

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Hanson Truss, Eddie’s Lincoln Auto Body, Simpson Strong-Tie, A&A Concrete Supply, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts:19, Wins: 1, Top 5’s: 9, Top 10’s: 12

ON TAP: Tanner Carrick will be off this weekend and is slated to return to action at the Tarter Memorial on June 16th in Chico, CA.
