Tim Kaeding and Roth Motorsports Close 2022 Out with Runner Up Finish

PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night in Stockton, CA, Tim Kaeding and Roth Motorsports closed the 2022 season out at The Stockton Dirt Track where Kaeding capped the night off with a hard fought second place finish in NARC action.

“Saturday night we had a really fast car,” Tim Kaeding said. “Justin Sanders beat us into turn one, and with the way the track was it basically decided the race. About halfway through the race we dropped a cylinder, but our Toyota TRD engine still had enough power to hold off Dominic Scelzi and even catch Sanders in traffic.”

Timing the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/Toyota TRD backed No. 83 in third quickest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up fourth in his heat race, Kaeding had a great start as he got to the top of the track and raced into second. Reeling in Justyn Cox in the fast-paced race, TK would settle for second which proved good enough to garner him a berth in the all-important Sunnyvalley Meats Dash.

Taking the green flag for the Dash from the outside of the front row, Kaeding settled into second as Justin Sanders got the jump and quickly pulled away from the field. Finishing second, Kaeding put the Roth Motorsports entry on the front row of the 25-lap feature event as he looked to give Toyota USA and Toyota Racing Development their first feature event win in California.

The initial start saw Kaeding hammer the throttle and get the jump, however a pesky caution flag flew and negated the start.

Kaeding would be unable to mirror that start on the next go around, as Justin Sanders led the field into turns one and two as Kaeding settled into second as a heavy mist began to fall.

While Sanders set a torrid pace out front, Kaeding was able to reel the leader in as traffic got thick on the hammer down surface. Doing all he could aboard a wounded Roth Motorsports entry, TK was able to fend off 2022 NARC champ, Dominic Scelzi, and claim a runner up finish to close out the 2022 season.

“I really want to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth, as well as Todd Ventura for the opportunity to close out the season with them,” Kaeding added. “I also want to thank Toyota for supplying us some great power for these final few races. I am very intrigued to see how they keep developing this TRD 410ci package.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, Toyota, TRD, Jason, Tara, And Cole Roth Cattle Co., Roth Investments, Speedway Engines, Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Vahlco Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Smith Titanium for their support.
