PETERSEN MEDIA- Tim Kaeding and the Lunstra Motorsports team had a very strong weekend that saw TK charge from 18th to finish second with the NSL 360’s on Friday night before he led laps at the Knoxville Raceway and end up finishing in the third spot.

“It was a good weekend for our team,” Kaeding explained. “We had really good speed both nights, and were in position to win Knoxville on Saturday night. Unfortunately we didn’t have a good final restart, but it happens and I think we learned a ton which is a good thing.”

Friday night in Rock Rapids, IA, TK would grid the Dammer Trucking/Folkens Bros. Trucking/Mihm Trucking No. 3 machine up in the ninth row for the 25-lap contest.

As the race played out, Kaeding would get stronger and strong with each lap. Carving his way through traffic, the San Jose, CA driver would break into the Top-Five with just a few markers remaining. Looking for more, Kaeding continue to gain speed, and took over the second spot on the 24th lap.

As he gave chase to race leader, Lee Grosz, Kaeding would come up short, but would turn the fastest lap of the night on that final lap.

Looking to build off that confidence, Kaeding and the Lunstra Motorsports team checked in at the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night for round two of action and TK would time the Yager Ag Supply/Matt’s Repair backed entry in sixth quickest.

Finishing sixth in his heat race, Kaeding would line up on the pole for the 20-lap feature event. With Davey Heskin getting out to the early lead, Kaeding would settle into the second spot as he hung right with the race leader.

In thick traffic, Kaeding would get around Heskin and take the race lead on lap 11 and lead the next two laps until the caution flag flew. The restart would see Kaeding’s machine hesitate just a bit to get up to speed and it would allow Ian Madsen to get by and take the race lead.

Once up to speed, Kaeding would see Brian Brown get around him and he would fall back to the third spot, where he would go on to finish.

“It was disappointing to be that good and not end up winning the race,” Kaeding said. “It’s part of it, but I am really happy with how we can in both cars this weekend. I can’t thank Dave Lunstra and everyone involved in this team enough for what they do on a weekly basis.”

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Dammer Trucking, Folkens Bros. Trucking, Mihm Trucking, Yager Agriculture Supply, Matt’s Repair, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2016.

ON TAP: TK and the Lunstra Motorsports team will be back in action on Friday night in Rock Rapids, IA with the NSL 360’s before returning to the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night.
