PETERSEN MEDIA- Trying their hand with the King of the West Series this past Saturday night in Placerville, CA, Tony Gualda and the C&M Motorsports team are ready to return to weekly 360ci action at the track as the team closes in on their first win of the season.

“We got into a little bit of trouble early in the night at Placerville Speedway with the King of the West Series, and it led to some damage through the night and we ended up pulling off early in the feature event,” Tony Gualda said. “It was a great opportunity to show our stuff with the 410’s, it just didn’t quite play out.”

With 27 cars checked into the pit area for the Summer Nationals, Gualda would end up 22nd in time trials as the track got better as the time trials session went on. Lining the Moorefield Construction, Inc/Hollister Auto Parts/PitStopUSA machine up in the fourth row of his heat race, the Hollister, CA driver would have some trouble in three and four as he would get upside down.

Though the damage looked minor, it would prove to be a little more substantial as more arose during the semi. Though Gualda finished sixth and made the transfer to the feature event, the team noticed more rear-end damage and were forced to thrash prior to the 30-lap feature event.

As they got things buttoned up, Gualda would make the call but would then pull back to the trailer and call it a night.

“It was a bummer deal, but it just made sense to play it safe with another point show coming up this weekend,” Gualda added. “Cody and his guys have been working hard all week, and we should have a really fast car for Saturday night.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Moorefield Construction, Inc., Hollister Auto Parts, PitStopUSA, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, Alturas Tires, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.

ON TAP: Gualda and C&M Motorsports are right back to work on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.

2018 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-19, Wins-0, Top 5’s-5, Top 10’s-11.
