PETERSEN MEDIA- One week removed from a hard hit in Tulare, CA, Tony Gualda and C&M Motorsports were back in business on Saturday in Stockton, CA after a long week of getting a new car put together.

“I have to thank Cody and Mandi and everyone who helped get a new car put together over the last week,” Tony Gualda said. “We took a pretty good hit a couple weeks ago in Tulare, CA and had our work cut out for us to make it to Stockton and luckily we were able to. We had some bugs, but fortunately it was a non point show, and we think everything is ironed out for this week’s race at Placerville.”

In his first of two heat races on Saturday night, Gualda would start scratch on the field as he did a great job of moving forward to earn a sixth place finish in his heat and pocket some valuable points.

Lining up on the front row of his second heat race, the Hollister, CA driver would pick up a second place finish aboard the Moorefield Construction, Inc./Hollister Auto Parts/Dassel’s Petroleum machine.

Having enough points to earn a spot in the Dash, Gualda would have a fuel issue while leading, and would end up finishing sixth, putting him in the third row for the 35-lap feature event.

Getting off to a nice start in the feature, Gualda would make a couple of nice moves to find himself up in third as he chased after Shane Golobic and DJ Netto.

Running in third, trouble arose for Gualda as a fuel line would let go and Gualda would wisely bring his machine to a stop and make his way to safety before anything could ignite.

“Even though we had a few issues we all worked really hard together to make the best of it,” Gualda said. “We had a good run going early in the ‘A’, but a fuel line let go and ended our night. Again, thanks to this team for working so hard and enduring some late nights to even make racing over the weekend possible.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Moorefield Construction, Inc., Hollister Auto Parts, Dassel’s Petroleum, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, Alturas Tires, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.

ON TAP: Gualda and C&M Motorsports will return to racing action on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.

2019 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-10, Wins-1, Top 5’s-4, Top 10’s-9.
